A lady who likes a slash

Claire’s favourite thing is a buffet or a 9 course tasting menu so you can have a bit of everything. This is why she’s a theatremaker/clown/comedian/actor/musician/writer/movement director/director/dancer/music director/composer. But websites like tabs so on this tab you’ll find the theatrey bits (but not the teaching theatrey bits, please don’t miss that tab, potential educational collaborator!!).

Claire has three whole solo shows! You can read about these below. She’s a member of the delectable SCRUM Theatre and is playing Viola in their forthcoming production of Twelfth Night. She’s also a part of acclaimed exiled Russian director Dmitri Krymov’s first piece of upcoming work in London. She’s a proud gutter dweller in the Gutter Comedy bouffon troupe and regularly collaborates on movement and direction with the delightful Three Inch Fools.

She trained at Lecoq, hence her penchant for movement, devising and clowning around. She’d be doing this section in mime if she could but it didn’t come across very well in the medium of website.

Most importantly Claire has an aversion to applying for ACE funding, but so many ideas to apply with, who would like to help her??

If you’d like to know about some credentials because you’re considering employing Claire, please mull over the fact that her work has appeared at Soho Theatre, Edinburgh Fringe, Vault Festival, Prague fringe and many more. She was Runner Up for the Funny Women Comedy Shorts Award, nominated for the Artist Choice award at Vault Festival and shortlisted for Soho Theatre’s writers lab with her debut play Hope Is For Tomorrow, meaning she’s almost funny, almost a good writer and almost popular with other artists.

Claire is a freelancer with an excellent command of the third person. She’s based in London (for now, am I right housing market?!?!) and would simply love to work with you. She’s represented as a performer by Carey Dodd Associates.

I am claire parry (very funny stand-up)

Attempting a living in the arts is absurd. So is this show.

A stand-up turns up to stand-up... and does anything but stand-up. A joyously stupid clown-mime-original-songs-show that does not - and cannot - tick the correct boxes.

A flailing, kicking but ultimately galvanising love letter to the arts amidst an arts crisis.

“A master at audience interaction, a fantastic singer, a poignant satirist” ★★★★★ MixUpTheatre

Boorish trumpson

An interactive, music and clowning-filled satire of power and those who wield it.

With clowning games, audience interaction and unexpected orchestral manipulations, Boorish Trumpson will stop at nothing to gain ultimate control over the orchestra. YOU are the orchestra.

A unique sound-design, virtuosic physicality and script constructed from quotes and tweets of Donald Trump and Boris Johnson creates a raucous humour whilst the bigger questions bubble below: in our world of troubled politics, how complicit are we in enabling such figures to rise to the top?

“An absurdist show unlike any I can recall” ★★★★★ EverythingTheatre

Intolerable side effects

An absurd, comic and poignant exploration of the darker side of contraception through the eyes (and ears) of the inimitable Diane.

Diane is a millennial rabbit. She's keen to find love but she's not keen to have a litter. At the GUM clinic she's advised to take 'Celery' as a form of 'Vegetation Separation'. But Celery causes some bizarre and unpleasant side effects, hindering her dating and sex-life significantly more than it helps. Join Diane as she generously and hilariously shares her trials and tribulations, from dating to female grooming to contraception - but will there ever be a revolution?

a hilarious take on one of the most stark issues in the lives of modern women” ★★★★ Wee Review

"For a piece to have such a profound effect on this hardened theatre critic's political stance, and for it to simultaneously provide such a stream of delightful belly-chuckles, it must be doing something right." Highly Recommended, Fringe Review

“Irrepressible” ★★★★  The List
